Cosmic Physiology and the Quantum Athlete (Light Opens our Third Eye)

The pineal gland is located deep in the brain and is responsible for among other things, getting our sleep/activity cycles through secretion of melatonin. How much is secreted is influenced by how much rest and darkness a body receives. Melatonin helps the body move into an alkaline state when we go to sleep. While we sleep, anabolic steroids are released to help build up the body. Slowed breathing alkalizes the body. We have greater reliance breathing through the tubercles of the nose as in Kundalini Yoga and pranic breathing; has brought attention to strange and interesting nutrients for the pineal gland—namely electrons, lights and photons.  The pineal gland fuel source comes in primarily through the nose in the form of negative ions. Influencing this supraluminal energy, as it is harnessed from the ethos, is accomplished by breathing energy in through the soft part of the top of the skull, drawing it up through the feet and into the joints through the breath.  Bringing blood to the furthest reaches by abdominal breathing oxygenates and alkalizes the body. This creates a feeling of pleasure that stimulates synchronization between the brain hemispheres and creates “entertainment” where a multitude of neurons act as one. Pleasure creates states of whole brain functioning, which naturally alkalizes the body. Our thoughts and feelings are continuously coding our nervous system. Moment by moment, our thoughts regulate our emotions and our physiological processes. Pleasurable thoughts stimulate the production of “endogenous” opiates to be released from where they are produced in the fourth ventricle of the brain. These endogenous opiates act like information substances, like a secondary nervous system regulating such diverse actions as turning the immune system on and off. This immune-modulating system is regulated though the breath and our breathing habits. Our “in the moment” thoughts are continuously modulating the whole physiological system.

Neuroplasticity and the Quantum Athlete

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to form new neural pathways or synapses. Neural pathways allow you to recall and store information on anything and everything, from what things are, to how to do things, to memories and other processes such as creativity. The more we use a certain piece of information or a “skill set”, the greater that neural pathway becomes, similar to a multi-lane expressway. Information we rarely use and skills we allow to dwindle, experience a corollary decline in the neural pathways leading to these area of the brain where information is seldom used is stored, similar to becoming an over grown dirt road. Eventually with lack of use, the brain will clear away the unused neural pathways in a process called synaptic pruning.
